I wish I was someone else?
Question: I wish I was someone else?
Hello.
I’m 18 (male) and I wish I was someone else.
- I don’t like me.
- I’m under-confident.
- I feel like i’m the crappest at University, so I don’t enjoy it.
- I don’t go out with mates – simply because I live at home, away from Uni, and no-one ever asks me out.
- I’m ignored by some people.
- All my life seems to be is wake up at 6:45am, go to the bus stop, go to Uni, do work, come home, do more work, bed. It’s a lot of work, and is getting me down.
- I have anxiety issues. I worry of what people think of me. I like to be liked.
- I’m the only child in the family to not run in the half marathon for my Grandad who died of cancer early this year. Why? Because of this anxiety thing, and I’m no good at running – in secondary school, i got laughed at because apparently i ran “funny”. I feel terrible because I didn’t do that after everything my Grandad did for me.
I just want to be like any other 18 year old… like with a girlfriend, confident, someone who goes out…
What can I do?

What is a nice gift to get someone who is doing their first Triathlon?
Question: What is a nice gift to get someone who is doing their first Triathlon?
Like if you’ve done one before, what would you either:
1. loved to have had while doing the triathlon (first one) but didn’t have it/one or
2. Anything that comes to mind that’s triathlon related
My best friend is doing one next week and he seems to have every possible thing, but I want a little something to show I’m proud of him (he’s been training like a beast) and support his accomplishment.
Any ideas?

I’m NOT going to do this btw lol. I just watched “Run Fatboy Run” and I was wondering, wouldn’t it be super easy for someone to show up with a fake/forged number, and run anyway? The crowds are so big it’s not like anyone would notice.

The key thing to remember is that it was a movie, you don’t actually see Simon Pegg run a marathon. For a person who has never run before to run a half marathon they should run for a half hour 4 times a week, taking walking breaks as necessary. Once they could run for a half hour without stopping they should add 5 minutes a week to one of the runs until they were running a 90 minutes to 2 hours, depending on how long they think it would take them to finish a half marathon. I would recommend the 2 hours.
Can someone help me with a NON CONTROVERSIAL topic that an adult would be interested in for a decathlon?
Question: Can someone help me with a NON CONTROVERSIAL topic that an adult would be interested in for a decathlon?
So basically i have to write a five paragraph essay for my academic decathlon class. It has to be a non-controversial topic that i have to present in front of the judged. Also a topic that adults would talk about in a normal conversation. A former winner presented his speech in class, and it was about the stupidity or criminals these days, it was rather good too. Any suggestions, Thanks!
