Is it OK to run a marathon with a triathlon suit? If so, which are the best brands?

Question: Is it OK to run a marathon with a triathlon suit? If so, which are the best brands?
This is my first marathon. I want to know how the padding on the triathlon suit will benefit/affect my running.
Male, 28yrs.

People in Ironman wear a triathlon suit for the entire race and that includes the run part (which is a marathon).

Seems to me it would be ok, but unnecessary. Also if you wear run-specific compression clothing then they’ll be compressing all the right muscles for JUST running and would probably be of greater benefit.

What is the best carseat out there? I am leaning towards getting the Britax decathlon…?

Question: What is the best carseat out there? I am leaning towards getting the Britax decathlon…?
Because it is adjustable and the Boulevard is not…..Has anyone used the Recaro carseat?

I never used any of the Britax carseats because they were just becoming available in the stores here about the time my first child was born. But we used the Alpha Omega Elite (also a little less pricey) for our first daughter and it held up so well that our second child is now using it. Now that the third one is on his was any day now, we purchased another Alpha Omega since we will have two in carseats at the same time. I did try several other less expensive brands of seat but none of them ever had a good fit in either of our vehicles. This seat has so far fit just right in every car we have had and also in the grandparents cars too. Hope this helps.

What are the best Triathlon swim goggles?

Question: What are the best Triathlon swim goggles?
I need some triathlon swim goggles and I am not sure which ones to buy. Will be doing outdoor tri’s (lakes, ocean). I already know that each goggle type fits a face differently, what I am trying to get info on is whether I should be looking at TINTED goggles vs CLEAR ones, and also whether I should get the usual swimmer-type ones like the Speedo Vanquishers or the larger/wider lensed ones? Thanks for your help.

As you mentioned they all fit different faces, so the style that fits you most comfortably is best most of the time. But I’ll also mention that through personal experience I don’t like the larger/wider lenses. The larger ones tend to catch more water when I come up for a breadth and disrupt the flow of water around my head more… leading to water splashed in my mouth (during pool sessions at least, haven’t used them in an OWS (Open Water Swim) yet). But this could be from the shape of my head or my style of swimming and might not be the case for you.

As for tinted or clear, that depends on lighting. If you’ll be training in an indoor pool you will prefer clear lenses most likely. If you are mostly outdoor (whether outdoor pool or OWS) a tinted lens is likely to be preferred. I personally train indoors 90% of the time and race outdoors, So when I find a set of goggles that I like for training I go back and buy the same model with tinted lenses as well. But there have been cloudy mornings the day of my race that have made me use the clear lenses instead, so it’s extremely nice to have the option if you can afford the extra $ 15-20

Question: which looks best on a college application: journalism, student government, yearbook staff,or academic decathlon?
I’m planning on applying to Harvard, Stanford, Yale, Darthmouth, and Brown University. I play basketball outside of school and I volunteer at school, my church, and in other organizations. I’m in various clubs. And I have about a 4.33 GPA. I would like to get into any of these colleges and I would like to know if these qualifications can get me into any of these colleges. And if there is anything I can do better. Thank-you!!! Ten points to best answer!!!!!! :)

Easily, Student Government would be my choice but you should do what you enjoy. You tend to do better (excel) at activities you enjoy rather than feel like ‘you have to do’.
