Question: How to train for a triathlon?
I want to finish a triathlon sometime in the next three years. I was wondering how long most people train for triathlons, how you train, and if there are any good websites that tell me more.

They are tough not gonna lie. Most people train years for a triathlon, because they are not easy as you have to have both the mental and physical portions down to be prepared to one. Here’s a method that some people use: they build up some weight(mass) and strength during the first year, then the next year they cut down and focus on endurance along with some (not a lot but some) strength training, and the final year is preparation and timing and the actual triathlon, so ya about 3 years, maybe a little less like 28-30 months. Now, what you need to do is increase your strength and endurance simultaneously. Endurance is absolute key here because a triathlon involves constant movement and energy along with the strength to complete the tasks (running, swimming, biking…etc all require strength). So what you can do is start strength training and mass gaining, then after at least a year immediately start the cutting and endurance training for at least 6-10 months, then finish off with preparations for the triathlon. You can also find more advice and ideas at bodybuilding.com , and also supplements that will help you recover like protein and vitamins and all that stuff. Also NO fast food. Unless you do it once a year. Only healthy stuff, but you already know that. Ok.

None of them, a triathlon is very hard, about endurance, the only guy that would have a chance would be Lance Armstrong, because he bikes and has run a marathon already…
